How vision insurance works

Vision insurance pays for eye exams, frames and lenses. Simply go to one of the VSP® locations this benefit will pay for your eye exam and many of the glasses and lenses available, if you need them. You can use any provider but going in-network will maximize savings.

Note: While some plans may also include discounts on laser eye surgery, most vision insurance may not cover special types of lenses, and will not cover eye surgery fully. Check with your benefits representative for your company’s specific plan details.

State of New York: The expected benefit ratio for this policy is 60% for groups covering less than 50 persons and 65% for groups covering 50 or more persons. This ratio is the portion of future premiums that the company expects to return as benefits, when averaged over all people with this policy.

All group insurance products are issued either by Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company or Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company of America, which have sole responsibility for their insurance and claims-paying obligations. Some products are not available in all states.
